Academe India Foundation (AI) seeks to help infuse academic research into the Indian public sphere. As a corollary, it seeks to make the availing of academic research easier for the Indian public.

AI’s Founder and Managing Director is Abhimanyu Chandra (University of Chicago, PhD student). Its Advisory Board comprises Christophe Jaffrelot (Sciences Po, Senior Research Fellow), Jaideep Prabhu (University of Cambridge, Director of the Centre for India & Global Business), Sunil Amrith (Harvard University, Mehra Family Professor of South Asian Studies and Professor of History), Vaiju Naravane (Ashoka University, Professor of the Practice of Journalism and Media Studies), Vasudha Dalmia (University of California, Berkeley, Professor Emerita of Hindi and Modern South Asian Studies), and Zoya Hasan (Jawaharlal Nehru University, Professor Emerita and former Dean of the School of Social Sciences). Its Head of Research is Saumya Saxena (University of Cambridge, PhD).

AI is a registered Section 8 not-for-profit company.
